Main duties of the job
We are Locala Continence Service, based at Fartown Health Centre and covering the whole of Kirklees North & South both in the clinic setting and community setting.
We aim to deliver a high-quality bladder/bowel health assessment/catheter care offering lifestyle advice, pelvic floor exercise regime, teaching of dilatation/ISC along with offering support with ongoing training of internal colleagues in both bladder/bowel/stomach and catheter education.
Statement of Job Purpose
The post holder is required to work as a member of the Continence Service team/Houdini team by providing evidence based nursing care of residents of Kirklees within their own home, nursing/care homes or other designated areas.
Job Summary
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision.
The role includes working with health care professionals and multidisciplinary teams to stimulate an awareness of continence care needs at both an individual and care home level/best practice catheter management. The post holder will be able to critically analyse a range of influences on health and healthcare provision and use this knowledge to assist with the planning, management and delivery of care within the community and care homes.
