Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, young, people and families and to work within a supportive, dedicated team to help us ensure that we provide the right help and support to children and young people when they need us most.
You will work alongside a senior leadership team which consists of an Operations Manager, Team managers and two Senior Practitioners as well as colleagues with a wide range of knowledge and experience, such as Counsellors, CWPs and EWPs.
Main duties of the job
To provide management supervision, clinical support and oversee the work of practitioners in the team.
To deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems.
To utilise specialist knowledge to make decisions about a child or young persons mental health needs and how they would most appropriately be met.
To provide advice, guidance and signposting to children, young people, parents and caregivers and professionals who are waiting for interventions. To assess clinical risk and safety plan, and to prioritise accordingly.
Escalate cases where the level of need becomes outside of service delivery within Ormiston Families within the YOUnited Partnership, and with fellow senior practitioners and team managers.

The salary for this post is £31,743 per annum, based on 35 hours per week.
Home based but with regular travel required acrossCambridgeshire and Peterborough.
You will be a qualified CWP, PWP, EMHP; RMN, RN (child) or social worker with relevant experience of working with children aged 5-13 and their families, with emerging mental health difficulties.
The senior practitioner role includes managing your own caseload, offering advice and guidance and risk management support for families on our waiting list and being competent in providing management supervision and clinical support to meet the needs of our growing service.
As this is a 12-month fixed term position. We are looking for someone who will make a real impact and who can demonstrate the necessary skills and passion to help us improve the mental health and wellbeing for children, young people and their families from the moment you join us. The ideal candidate will be an experienced childrens mental health practitioner with comprehensive supervisory experience and training.

YOUnited provides a single point of access for any professional across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to refer a young person to get support with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. Ormiston Families work with CYP aged 5-13 with mild to moderate mental health and emotional health and wellbeing needs.
