Across our services, we provide over 1,000 hours of staff time per week. This includes a variety of roles, both clinical and non-clinical, and a number of different rota types, from specialist nursing clinics and physiotherapy sessions, to overnight GP shifts in our Integrated Urgent Care Centres, and everything in between.
Making sure that every service, every staff member, and every patient is properly supported is the purview of our Culture Department. Being a Culture Assistant requires attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work as part of a close knit team.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of this job is to give administrative support to the team looking after people who are joining the organisation, in order to allow the organisation to provide high-quality healthcare to meet the needs of the population of Hartlepool and Stockton to the highest possible standard.
As Culture Assistant, you will work as part of a wider team supporting our workforce, monitoring compliance, and managing the day-to-day administrative tasks of the team. You will work at all times on your own competencies, guided by out organisations current standards, policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities
In accordance with organisational requirements, you will:
- Perform general, office administrative duties including taking inbound calls.
- Monitor our workforces compliance in line with current healthcare standards.
- Assist the Rota and Relationships Coordinator with the staffing of current services.
- Assist the Culture Department with the maintenance and publishing of current organisational documents.
- Assist the Culture Department with the recruitment, pre-employment checks, on-boarding, induction, and orientation of employees.
- Compile reports for the managers and for other teams within H&SH where appropriate.
- Attend training and/or promotional events which may fall outside of your normal working hours.
Professional Development
- Keep up to date with all mandatory training to ensure compliance and competence.
- Attend training courses in house, online, and externally, to develop expertise and further knowledge.
- Take responsibility for updating, documenting and maintaining your own knowledge and skills framework, and sharing professional development with H&SH.
- Express needs or desire for further training and work within own remit at all times.
- Participate in appraisals, performance reviews and professional development plans on an ongoing basis with H&SH when required.
