Job summary

The Densham/Dovecot Surgery are looking for a part-timereceptionist to do 18 hours a week, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

There may be the occasional ask to support to work extra hours to cover absence of colleagues arising from holidays, sickness or other absences.

Main duties of the job

Perform a variety of standard reception / admin duties to Dr Chaudhury, Dr Robson, and the Nursing Team.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Operate day to day duties on the computerised appointment system.

Receive patients and making appointments with doctors, nurses, and attached primary care staff.

Make remote appointment bookings into the 7 Day Enhanced Access service provided by H&SH.

Answer the telephone and deal with appointments and enquiries.

Accept requests for, and hand out, prescriptions.

Register patients for SystmOnline services.

Gain Data Sharing consent from patients re. New Model of Share - SystmOne.

Accept path lab samples and complete appropriate path lab forms to be sent to North Tees Pathology Laboratory.

Request pathology tests via electronic ICE system.

Undertake admin duties around INR finger prick testing.

Record and send pathology samples to North Tees Pathology Laboratory.

Book interpreters and liaise with patients.

Set up electronic referrals to Community Services, e.g. phlebotomy, District Nursing, etc.

Open morning incoming internal mail, date stamp it, and sort into doctors' trays.

Deal with outgoing post, including external mail.

Deal with cash receipts.

Give out results to patients via Pathology Links, after 3pm.

Manage personal NHS Mail Account.

Assist secretary with patients related queries regarding hospital appointments.

Set filing.

Process repeat prescriptions in line with the practice's repeat prescribing protocol (ETP).

Scan incoming internal mail using electronic document workflow to clinicians.

Enter data onto the clinical system, ensuring it is quality data input in line with current read code guidelines.

Experience
