Are you an experienced palliative care nurse with a passion for innovation and improvement? Marie Curie is looking for someone highly driven and enthusiastic about Palliative care improvement, to join our NEW Primary Care Network (PCN) project in Exeter.You willbe requiredto work across the communitysettingssupporting theproactive and reactiveidentification and support of palliative patients in the community.This rolewill also involve working in the local ED departmentsupporting the discharge of end-of-life patients.

Main duties of the job

Were looking for an experienced Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist to help develop and strengthen the service, improving how patients needing palliative and end-of-life care are identified through advanced assessment and multidisciplinary working. The post requires confident, person centred practice and a commitment to widening access for underserved communities, supporting both patients and carers, while working to Marie Curies legal, ethical, competency and clinical standards.

Your expertise will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing this service, with a primary objective of improving how we identify patients needing palliative and end-of-life care by utilising advanced clinical assessments and collaborating across disciplines.

We want someone who is confident and clinically proficient, with a strong focus on person-centred care. Your knowledge and experience should help expand access to palliative and end-of-life services for individuals in underserved communities, positively affecting the well-being of both patients and their carers.

This position highlights the importance of clinical expertise and strong teamwork, which are vital for Marie Curies success. As part of the team, you will be required to comply with all applicable legal, ethical, competency, and clinical standards ensuring responsibility for your actions within your professional remit.
