Main duties of the job

In this key role, supported by the Clinical Nurse Manager, youll deliver day to day support to a great team of Marie Curie nurses and healthcare assistants. This will include training and development, investigating incidents and caseload management and support to the Co-ordinators in Wales, along with the Clinical Nurse Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of the Marie Curie Nursing Service in the region. You will deputise for the Clinical Nurse Manager in their absence.

Salary: Marie Curie Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) £35,922 - £43,257 pro rata per annum

Hours/Contract: Permanent Contract Part time 30 hours per week

Based: Marie Curie Cardiff and the Vale Hospice

What we are looking for:

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to proactively plan and schedule your own workload to meet patient care requirements
  • NMC Level 1 Registration
  • The flexibility to work across a varied shift pattern
  • Experience in observation and assessment of clinical practice to determine standards of care and ability to deliver Clinical Skills Training
  • An understanding of specific needs of patients approaching end of life and in the terminal phase
  • Driving licence allowing you to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle that can be insured for business

The role is based in Penarth, although you must be willing to travel to various venues across Cardiff & Cwm Taf to meet with nursing teams and attend relevant End of Life Care meetings. The ability to drive with access to a vehicle insured for business use is therefore essential.
