Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Office Administrator to join the Marie Curie team at our Cardiff hospice!

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for proactive and reactive administration support across the national team, including co-ordinating, planning and delivering ad-hoc events, as directed by the line Manager.

Salary:Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC BAND 2 £22,720 per annum

Hours:Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Contract Type:Permanent

Based:Cardiff and The Vale Hospice

You will be responsible for proactive and reactive administration support across the national team, including co-ordinating, planning and delivering ad-hoc events, as directed by the line Manager.

You will provide full secretarial and office admin support, maintaining team diaries, producing correspondence, reports, minutes, presentations and other documents. Your ability to establish and maintain efficient office systems and produce accurate management information, as required, is essential. You should therefore be highly organised and flexible, have excellent IT and proven administration skills and be confident dealing with a variety of stakeholders in a professional manner.

As the first point of contact for the office to receive visitors, handling incoming calls, dealing pro-actively with enquiries and supporting communication within the office, you will ensure arrangements for events and meetings are made in a timely fashion, including any booking of rooms, travel and accommodation; associated documentation.

No two days are the same and you will juggle a variety of demands in this hands-on role.

  • High level of discretion while dealing with confidential information
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of general office systems such as bring forward diarising, filling etc.
