An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Volunteer Service Coordinator to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic individual with community engagement and volunteer management skills to join us at a time of exciting development of our services in Surrey.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with excellent interpersonal skills with experience of utilising initiative and autonomy to establish professional relationships and support the development of new services.
The successful candidate will work closely together with the local Marie Curie Caterham Team, including our Nursing Service and Fundraising Teams, as well as the wider South East and National Marie Curie Teams to establish a service that meets the local needs and is effective, linked to and supported by the wider organisation.
This Volunteer Service Coordinator will be focused on developing and implementing a community companion service and Advanced care planning service to supportthose at end-of-life, and their loved ones, within care home settings in East Surrey. This will include networking and creating professional relationships with the local system providers to identify gaps and effectively develop the service in line with local need. Plus, the recruitment, training and ongoing management of volunteers to be able to effectively deliver the service.
The location of work will be flexible to the needs of the role and will include working from home, in the community in East Surrey and within Marie Curie office in Caterham.

- Stories and Patient Experience Volunteers support our quality team to hear the experiences and stories of those who have experienced end of life care
We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills to join our team. Strong planning and operational service delivery skills are essential with an ability to use your own initiative to make improvements to service delivery. Although not essential, experience of delivering services using volunteers, befrienders and working in partnership with external agencies is desired.
