Salary:Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, alignedwithAFC BAND 7 £43,742 -£50,056 pro rata, per annum (depending on experience)

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior clinical nurse to join our South East Marie Curie team. You will provide clinical leadership and professional line management, acting as a supportive and flexible manager to ensure the delivery of the Marie Curie Nursing Service strategy and services within Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and West Berkshire.
Our services are overnight planned variable services delivered by nurses and healthcare assistants and operate between the hours of 10pm and 7am, 7 days a week, supporting patients in their own homes within the last 12 weeks of their life.
Reporting to and working alongside the Head of Operations and Quality for the South East, you will manage a number of diverse services delivered across your area, whilst, with the support of a full time Band 6 Senior Nurse, daily line manage a team of clinical staff, ensuring that the right workforce is trained and available to deliver quality, safe care to patients in line with the supervision framework. The role will also include managing service performance, leading on recruitment and selection processes, leading incident and complaint investigations and disciplinary hearings on occasions.
You will work closely with our internal teams and system partners, including multi-disciplinary teams, District Nursing teams, the other South East Clinical Nurse Managers, the Marie Curie co-ordination centre, Senior Nurses, Marie Curie Nurses and Healthcare Assistants in order to provide a proactive and consistent approach to delivering patient care.
A confident communicator, you will act as the clinical voice for Marie Curie, participating in local NHS palliative care strategy/ End of life groups and networks to ensure awareness and recognition of the contribution of the Marie Curie Nursing Services, providing expert advice and information as necessary and also identifying future development opportunities. You will assume responsibility for the management of any clinical incidents and work within the Charity's clinical governance framework in order to achieve targets.
The role is home based although you must be willing to travel to various venues across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and West Berkshire to meet with nursing teams and attend relevant End of Life Care steering group meetings. It is therefore essential that you live in the locality. You will also need to be willing to travel to our regional office in Caterham for monthly face to face leadership meetings. The ability to drive with access to a vehicle insured for business use is therefore essential. All travel expenses with be reimbursed.
The role is based on 30 hours per week, over 4 days Monday to Friday, 09.00-17.00. Participation in the management on call rota for the South region is also part of the role and full training and support will be given.
What we are looking for:
- A Registered Nurse with Level 1 registration
- Recent experience in palliative care and ideally proven experience of managing a large clinical team
- Understanding of the specific needs of patients in the EOL phase, together with a firm understanding of community working
- Proficient IT Skills
- A full driving license with access to a vehicle insured for business use and a willingness to travel
