Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our Team of Marie Curie Nurses in Hounslow North West London.

Main duties of the job

Marie Curie London are recruiting experienced Band 5 Registered Nurses to work with Care Homes across Hounslow.

The applicants will be part of a wider Care Home service working with a team of community nurses and GPs across Hounslow and will lead on end of life and advance care planning discussions and the creation of Universal Care Plans.

Marie Curies Advance Care Planning service in Hounslow, West London will support care home residents and their Next of Kin, to discuss Advance Care Planning and then create a Universal Care Plan with support of the GP and other members of their Health and social Care Team.

Working hours will be predominately Monday-Friday 9-5pm with flexibility to contact family members at evenings and weekends if required. Applications for nurses wishing to work full or part time are welcomed.

These posts will be home based but with an expectation to travel across Hounslow to visit Care Home residents and multidisciplinary teams and will require the applicants to be excellent communicators, understand long-term conditions, frailty and palliative care as well as being competent in using IT systems (Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, Emis/Systm One) Travel costs will be reimbursed by the charity.

All IT equipment (Laptop, Monitor and Smart Phone) will be provided, and ongoing training and support will be provided as well as Marie Curies commitment to provide continuous professional development.

What we are looking for:

  • RN Registration Level 1
  • Experience in NHS or other relevant care setting in palliative care
  • Ability to work in a complex and stressful environment and demonstrate appropriate coping mechanisms
  • Be a licensed driver with access to a car and a willingness to travel is essential
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Competent in IT systems
