Job summary
We are looking for a Lymphoedema Practitioner to join our caring and hardworking team at Mountbatten, on a permanent basis for 15 hours per week.

The role will provide and deliver a high standard of Lymphoedema care to patients with
cancer and non-cancer related Lymphoedema.
Main duties of the job
Assisting
with the provision of a comprehensive Lymphoedema Service for patients with
specialist care needs, by the facilitation of one-to-one care in clinic, ward
and within the community.
Providing
advice, support, and education of Lymphoedema to patients referred into the
service.

To support and assist the existing Lymphoedema team in the delivery of Lymphoedema treatment and advice to patients and carers.
Ensure effective systems of communication between patient and healthcare professionals, providing written and verbal information on all appropriate assessments and treatments with written progress reports.

Essential
- Registered Health Professional 1st level Nursing or Allied Health Professional first degree level
- NMC or HCPC Registration
- CPD evidence including reflective practice, courses attended, clinical experience
- Prepared to undertake relevant post graduate accredited Lymphoedema training
- Experience in one of the following: community services/arterial/vascular disease/oncology/tissue viability
Skills
Essential
- Understanding of Clinical Governance and the implications for the Lymphoedema Service including experience of quality issues and audit
- Understands the legal responsibilities of the profession
- Assessment and decision-making skills

- Over 5 years post registration experience
- Experience of working independently in a patient centred environment
- Student and healthcare assistant supervision / clinical education
