palliative and end of life care to our patients, their families and loved ones.

We are seeking a 1st level
registered nurse to join the friendly multidisciplinary team in our Inpatient
Unit, to assist in the provision of and delivery of the highest possible
standard of care to our patient and their loved ones.
You will have responsibility for assessing
care needs and developing, implementing and reviewing programmes of care for
our patients, ensuring that the care provided is patient centred. You will contribute to MDT meetings and
administer drugs in line with Birmingham Hospice and NMC guidelines. The role will also involve supervising Band 2
and Band 3 staff on the ward, and you will be required to take charge of the
ward as and when required.
You will possess excellent standard of
nursing care and clinical knowledge, be able to work as part of a
multidisciplinary team and have excellent interpersonal skills.
About us
In August 2021, Birmingham St Marys and John Taylor
Hospices merged to form one single registered charity The Hospice Charity
Partnership.
But it became clear that while we wanted to retain the
heritage of our two organisations, the branding and partnership messaging was
confusing for patients, families, volunteers and fundraisers.
So, we reached out to ask the opinions of local communities.
During that extensive consultation, you told us that moving forward you wanted
a single, clear and unique charity identity one that acknowledged and
celebrates our 157-year heritage while also helping to grow and reach even more people who need us.
We listened
to your feedback, and in March 2023 rebranded our charity as Birmingham
Hospice. This new name represents the same outstanding care we have been
providing for decades, but with a fresh, new look to guide our charity into
further success for another 150 years and more.
Hospices support people with a wide range of conditions
including cancer, motor neurone disease, cardio-vascular diseases, dementia,
multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons disease, and end-stage heart, kidney and lung
diseases.
