Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Aromatherapist/Complementary Therapist to support and deliver a planned programme of complementary therapy to patients with palliative needs .

Responsibilities will include assessing and planning patients’ treatment, attendance at multi-disciplinary meetings prior to commencing clinical sessions, completing clear documentation including treatment evaluations.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone with a caring and compassionate nature alongside an enthusiasm for your profession and the role, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build a rapport with patients, staff and other members of the public. The successful candidate will be recognised for patience, tenacity and ability to empathise with patients. Of utmost importance, it is essential that the successful candidate has the ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive data. They must also be willing to undertake any required training and development to support the role.

We deliver our primary objective of holistic palliative and supportive care to those suffering with progressive life limiting conditions, their families and loved ones. We provide an Adult Inpatient Unit, a Children and Young Adults Unit, Day Care Services, Home Care Services, Complementary Therapy plus Bereavement and Counselling Services.

  • Healthcare or palliative care experience, twelve months post qualification experience in Aromatherapy, experience in other Complementary Therapy modalities and the ability to work autonomously

Qualifications

  • -Qualified to Diploma Level or above in Aromatherapy
  • -Must hold current membership of a recognised Complementary
  • Therapies related professional body, hold personal and public liability insurance and appropriate continued personal/professional development

Desirable

  • Certificate in Palliative Care for Complementary Therapies.
