Job summary
We are looking for a PCN Paramedic (Primary
Care). Always committed to delivery of
high-quality care to our patients across the Warrington Place we maintain a
friendly family atmosphere, we have a strong ethos of team working and can do.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of a (MDT), the job holder will play a key role in the development of PCNs in delivering enhanced care at GP practice level. The job holders primary role will be to work autonomously throughout the Warrington area, to provide first point of contact for patients presenting with undiagnosed problems relating to minor illness or injury using their existing enhanced clinical assessment and treatment skills. The job holder is required to use their own car for transport/ home visits. The role function will support GPs by making urgent visits to patients, initiate appropriate care and effective treatment to patients in a pre-hospital environment, selecting and applying appropriate skills and equipment safely and (within the scope of their role) support the progression of care plans of patients with long term medical conditions, working to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Warrington. The Paramedic will also be given dedicated time to help develop services and clinics for the PCN, playing a key role in PCN functions going forward.

Quay Primary Healthcare CIC is a Warrington Based
Primary Care Federation, representing 4 Primary Care Networks, 190,000 patients
and 21 practices across Warrington. We employ Clinical Pharmacists, First
Contact Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Paramedics, Care
Coordinators, Project and Business Managers to support Primary Care.
Quay Primary Healthcare CIC started in 2014, as
part of the Prime Ministers challenge fund.
We are a primary care support organisation, with all the GP practices in
Warrington as shareholders. We have seen significant shifts in Primary Care
demands and structures, since 2019 and now the amalgamation of Clinical
Commissioning Groups into Integrated Care Systems (ICS). As these grow,
collaboration between primary care providers and their wider system partners is
growing too.

Job responsibilities

· Have a fully equipped mobile clinic, unique to us,
for assessing hot covid patients.
· Assist in the Vaccination and Booster Programme for
PCNS
· Are undertaking a Diabetes project with home
monitoring and podiatry checks
· In 2022 are working towards joining the Urgent
Care, agenda to maintain their front line Paramedic skills, in partnership with
other Health Trusts and Providers
· Innovate to provide new services across the North
West where gaps exist in service provision.
· Assist the CIC Medical and Clinical Team with
initiatives.
· *All our Paramedics will get the opportunity to
study at Masters Level to become Advanced Practitioners, undertaking a course
of study at Liverpool John Moores University (*subject to NHS Funding for
further places)

- BSc or above in Paramedic Science or equivalent degree.
- HCPC registration (to be included in any application documents with no amendments to practice.
- 3 years post-graduation NHS experience.
- At least 6 months experience in primary or urgent care setting.
- Have completed NQP pathway.

- MSc in Paramedic Science or other healthcare degree.
- Areas of speciality such as safeguarding or mental health.
