Job summary

We are seeking a candidate with substantial experience of managing a service and providing support to individuals with complex needs, possessing impeccable organisational and problem-solving skills.

Adferiad provides a positive attachment service for individuals with issues relating to young people such as ACES, county lines, bullying, school stress etc. Funded by Powys County Council.

The role involves managing the service, liaising with young people, their families, other professionals supporting the young person, being the main point of contact for the project for both statutory and other voluntary agencies, to ensure positive and effective professional working relationships are established and maintained for the staff, and service users, within the project.

Main duties of the job

To work with Commissioners to develop and establish the service in line with the Service Specification and outcomes monitoring for the service.

You will hold responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Powys Positive Attachment Service, regularly reviewing the level and standard of support provided by you and your staff team.

The Service Manager is to take the lead on processing of approved referrals.

Follow procedures for conducting 3 monthly support plans reviews or as and when required due to changes in individuals needs or circumstances, ensuring risk assessments, support delivery plans are kept up to date and are relevant.

Work with service users to achieve their outcomes and the outcomes of the project, employing creative and innovative methods to meet these outcomes and, through their experience and resources, bring added value.

Managing the delivery of a high quality, reliable, cost-effective, person-centred service, providing value for money. The Service Manager & staff team are to ensure that the individuals using the service are at the centre of the assessment and support planning.

Ensuring support is provided based on an individuals needs, desires, and personal preferences to promote wellbeing.

Making sure individuals receiving support are enabled and empowered to exercise informed choices about their lives where possible, to enhance their social skills and encourage participation in the community.

Ensuring client files and records are of a high standard, up to date and always prepared for Funders audits and validation checks.

Manage a Staff Team, including direct management supervision, performance monitoring and appraisal.

Leading on performance of the staff team; allocate tasks, agree objectives, set out plans and work methods following best practice and ensuring the service is accountable.

Identifying and ensuring any training and development needs of staff are met.

Ensure a culture of positive risk taking and promote a reflective and learning culture.

Within this role you may be required to provide hands on support on own or working alongside colleagues, to ensure support calls are delivered.

External Collaboration:

Communicate clearly, effectively and professionally with service users receiving support, Support Workers, Carers, family members, referrers and other Professionals via multiple formats (i.e., face-to-face, telephone, in writing etc.)

Ensure external and internal communication is clear, timely and of high quality.

Signposting/referring on to other specialist/appropriate services in a timely manner.
