Job summary
The Sanctuary Support Worker will form part of a team providing recovery focussed, compassionate, and dynamic mental health related support to clients accessing Adferiad Recoverys Swansea Sanctuary Service.
As a member of the team, you will provide somewhere to turn to for people (and those who have relationships with those) experiencing social/emotional crisis, anxiety, panic attacks, depression and/or having suicidal thoughts.
Main duties of the job
- Provide direct support to individuals suffering with various levels of mental illness accessing the Sanctuary.
- Support the needs of adults (aged over 17 years and 9 months) who are in, at the risk of, or at the point of a social/emotional crisis within the Swansea Bay University Health Board area.
- Provide an out of hours, non-accommodation-based service offering support between the hours of 18:00 to 03:00, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

- Experience of providing care and support services to people with serious mental illness.
- Experience of providing care and support services within a social care setting.
- Lived experience of mental health.
- Significant experience of caring for someone using mental health services.
- Previous experience or knowledge of Mental Health Crisis Interventions.
- Previous experience of working within multi-disciplinary settings.
- Experience of using a range of self-management or recovery tools and technique.
Desirable
- Experience of providing de-escalation techniques
