Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to manage Adferiad Treatment Services in Swansea. The successful applicant will oversee all aspects of service delivery in line with our commitment to principles of empowerment, self-management, and recovery. Ensuring the highest possible service is provided to all individuals supported and driving the voices of those who use our services forward in our service development and delivery.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage and support a staff team by using excellent leadership skills, ensuring everyone receives regular direct supervision and performance monitoring
  • Assign work to team members, monitor and supervise the day-to-day delivery and quality standards of work
  • Review incoming referrals and allocate within a timely manner
  • Ensure substance use interventions are delivered with the aim to reduce harms associated with substance use
  • Review Safeguarding concerns within the team and share with appropriate person e.g. safeguarding officer and senior management
  • Undertake probationary assessments taking appropriate actions in a timely manner
  • Actively monitor attendance and absences undertaking return to work interviews and implementing absence management procedures as necessary
  • Work in partnership with colleagues to maintain a high-quality service that reflects the culture and values of Adferiad whilst incorporating the demands of commissioners and those supported
  • Follow procedures for general record keeping and information collection, saving and archiving adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining productive working relationships with service commissioners, statutory and 3rd sector agencies
  • To ensure service users are aware of their rights and responsibilities and enabled to exercise informed choices about their lives where possible and to enhance their social skills and encourage participation in the community

Team Management

Service Development

  • Follow procedures for general record keeping and information collection, saving and archiving adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies.
  • Monitor service performance in line with project action plans and funding requirements, in conjunction with the Head of Treatment Services.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining productive working relationships with service commissioners, statutory and 3rd sector agencies.
  • Responsible for identifying service user unmet needs, generating ideas/strategies to improve services and work with the team to develop new service delivery initiatives/proposals.
  • Identify and support role specific training and the development needs of staff, promoting a learning culture.

Service Delivery

  • To ensure service users are aware of their rights and responsibilities and enabled to exercise informed choices about their lives where possible and to enhance their social skills and encourage participation in the community.

  • Attend external and internal meetings as required.
  • Liaise with partnership organisations in delivery of First Point of Contact Service and provide data.
  • Ensure service users involvement and a person-centred approach is embedded within the day-to-day working of the team.
  • Ensure all service user activity is recorded on the Case Management System; carrying out monthly case file checks.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monitoring reports for submission to the commissioner.
  • Agree and implement plans for reaching and maintaining performance standards where appropriate, including capability assessments and disciplinary investigations in accordance with the organisations policy and procedures.
  • Liaise with all relevant statutory and voluntary agencies to build and sustain the links necessary for the effective operation of projects.
  • Represent Adferiad at events and meetings as agreed with the Head of Treatment Services.
  • Ensure positive and appropriate promotion of Adferiad services.

  • NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care and/or relevant professional qualification

Desirable

  • NVQ level 4 or QCF level 5 - Competencies in Management would provide some evidence of competence for the post

  • Must have experience of managing and developing a service and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a staff team.
  • Experience of service development.
  • Experience of providing support to individuals with problematic substance use.
