Job summary
Job Purpose:
To improve the lives of people with poor mental wellbeing,
their carers and families through enabling carers /supporters to visit their
loved ones at the Royal Glamorgan mental health acute wards. This is achieved
through providing transport to those who would otherwise be unable to travel to
the hospital wards within visiting times. The service is available to transport
carers/supporters living in the Cynon Valley and Merthyr Tydfil.
Providing active listening, advice and guidance regarding
the support needs of the carers / supporters throughout the time a person is
utilising the service. Sign posting people to the most appropriate support
service in their local community or if necessary, the wider community.
Main duties of the job
Employee Responsibilities:
- Ensuring data collection and appropriate recording and presentation for monitoring, evaluating the effectiveness of the service and Quality Assurance.
- Act in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and Information Governance Policies.
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements such as provisions set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- To act in accordance with the charitys Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies and to notify the line manager promptly if there are any concerns.
- To participate in regular supervision and appraisal and undertake any relevant training as appropriate to the role and your own personal development.
- To work in accordance with the charitys national policies and local operating procedures and those of external regulators or professional bodies.
- As with all employees, workers and volunteers; to encourage people to join Adferiad as a member.
- Carry out all reasonable tasks with the post as directed by line manager
