CLINICAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR

Job summary

This role is designed to support the Learning and Development Service in ensuring adherence to Care Quality Commission outcomes and the Ambitions for Palliative and end of life care framework across all Hospice services as well as supporting the education and professional development across the Organisation and wider community

The role will promote best practice in palliative and end of life care internally and externally, and will particularly liaise with the Lead Facilitator with regards to promoting Hospice education programmes and clinical skills development.

Main duties of the job

Co o-ordinate, arrange and develop a range of education and training sessions for registered Practitioners, Health and Social Care staff related to palliative and end of life care that can be utilised within, and extend across the Organisation.

Working with the Director of People and Development and the Assistant Director of Patient Experience and Clinical Effectiveness to ensure competency frameworks are developed for all clinical posts across the organisation, supporting Managers and staff to identify required competence and assess against the agreed frameworks.

To develop a range of clinical skills training to ensure competency completion and ongoing maintenance of competency, reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of training programmes

In conjunction with the Learning and Development Lead Facilitator deliver high quality training pertaining to clinical skills and competency development with clear objectives.

To collate evaluations following education and training and reporting as necessary on evaluation outcomes.

To deliver Hospice Induction training as required.

To support the education and training of volunteers where appropriate.

To act as a support for new clinical staff members and support existing staff who are mentoring new staff.

To attend relevant education and training meetings at local level, ensuring feedback to the Director of People and Development and the Education Planning meetings, taking actions as appropriate.

Palliative and end of life care

Education and training

Working with the Learning and Development Team, develop training outlines, sessionplans, learning objectives, competency statements and assessment tools as required.
