Main duties of the job
What You'll Do:
- Lead and inspire our advocacy team to deliver exceptional support.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with academies and schools.
- Efficiently manage referrals and allocate cases, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
- Play a key role in developing and growing our services, bringing fresh ideas and innovations.
- Oversee budgets, manage Service Level Agreements, analyse data and prepare reports.
- Leading role on Children and Young Peoples Safeguarding working with DSL in Teesside Mind.

About us
Teesside Mind has been working in local communities to improve mental health and wellbeing for over 25 years. The environment in which we operate has changed hugely over this time, and the importance of good mental health has never been as widely understood.
One of our proudest achievements in the last 3 years has been collaborating with Primary Care colleagues on the development of Social Prescribing on Teesside. In addition our recent merger with Redcar and Cleveland Mind has enabled us to offer more services to more people across Teesside.
Our communities are facing real challenges because of the legacy of Covid on peoples health and wellbeing, and pressure on resources. Some people are still less well served than others. Management duties:
- Lead on engagement and delivery for a portfolio ofschool partners, from onboarding and setting up delivery, to ongoing support and managing renewals.
- With support from Service Manager ensure allService Level Agreements are negotiated, signed and delivery compliant with terms and conditions.
- Develop close working relationships with lead contacts and be the lead on renewals and upsellopportunities with schools.
- Provide effective line management support and performance management to a team of skilled CYP practitioners and senior practitioner.
- Oversee the day to day running of the service, coordinating practitioner placement, ensuring service delivery is efficient, highly effective and delivered in line with budget working closely with Finance Team.
- Ensure oversight of case management from referral to triage and allocation to practitioner and parent liaison- balancing case numbers and geographical allocation to maximise efficacy and efficiency of the offer.
- Work collaboratively alongside NHS, community partners and education settings. Were relevant work with colleagues from Mental Health CYP partners at relevant external forums e.g. SPOC or with CYP Team Leads at Teesside Mind to ensure the most appropriate pathway is available for the service user.
- Promote good practice and implement service improvements, ensuring quality, and the effective development and delivery of service. This includes undertaking regular quality reviews of safety assessments across the service ensuring practitioners case notes and records are up to date meeting Teesside Minds clinical quality standards.
- Support the team to deliver good quality, evidence-based support, by sharing examples ofgood practice and sourcing useful resources to support service delivery.
- Keep up to date with new policy and system changes, attending information sessions or relevant CYP MH conferences.
- Offering support and consultation to teachers and school staff teams, liaising with parents, SENCO, pastoral support, educational psychology, CAMHS colleagues, Early Help, Social Care and other relevant professionals.
- Collect and analyse service data, including activity data, outcome measures (CORS & Goals) and risk data to produce written reports for the purposes of evidencing service activity to schools and for internal purposes, to identify areas for improvement and best practice.
- Facilitate regular Peer Group supervisions to encourage reflection and shared learning.
- Support Teesside Minds wider CYP team meetings and facility relevant training to support practitioner learning and service users presenting needs.
Safeguarding:
- Lead role within Teesside Mind on Children and Young Peoples Safeguarding working with Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and other CYP Team leads.
- Support staff to respond appropriately to safeguarding issues.
New Business Development:
- Support service manager to identify and pursue new business opportunities that are sustainable and fit within our development plan including marketing and sales to grow the service offer.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders throughout all local organisations including Schools and local authorities.
- Identify school-specific needs relating to health and wellbeing and use innovative approaches to work collaboratively to achieve joint goals.
- Be able to respond flexibly to changes in the requirements of this post.
