Job summary

A dynamic, enthusiastic, self-motivated, highly experienced nurse with excellent clinical palliative care practice & knowledge wanted.

You will provide varied senior experience in a multidisciplinary working environment within the Specialist Community Services & the 18-bed Inpatient unit.

We work across Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Brentwood, West Essex and Redbridge we provide Inpatient, Hospice at Home, Therapies & Wellbeing, Community Clinical Specialist services & out of hours advisory telephone support & work collaboratively with internal & external healthcare professionals.

You will have advanced communication, clinical assessment/prioritisation skills, & understand the complex needs of those receiving specialist palliative care/end of life care as well ascompetency in evidence-based practice & the ability share a sound knowledge of current initiatives and developments in palliative care.

Key elements: an expert practice function, Education, training & development function, Professional leadership & consultancy functions.Practice, service development, research & evaluation.

Extensive community experience with lone working involved would be additionally valuable & successful non-medical prescribing qualification ideal for further development of community services. Relevant experience of working at a senior level, managing a complex clinical caseload with appropriate supporting qualifications & evidence of appropriate leadership learning.

Main duties of the job

An expert practice function. The Nurse practitioner will deliver high quality care to patients, enable other practitioners to maintain professional expertise, exercising a high degree of personal autonomy within their role. They are also expected to spend at least half the time available in direct contact with clients, patients, or communities.

Education, training and development function. Nurse practitioner will provide specialist training and education of others, establishing formal links with local education providers. They should also contribute to the development of qualified staff in their specialist fields.

Nurse Practitioner should be able to demonstrate leadership skills which will support and motivate others, in order to continuously improve quality of care and standards of practice providing a source of highly specialised expertise and knowledge for others in their specialist field.

Practice, service development, research and evaluation. Nurse practitioner will contribute to development of professional practice, through the promotion of evidence-based practice, audit of standards of care. They will also conduct research and evaluation of practice within their specialist field.

We achieved Outstanding in our CQC inspection & have reconfigured our services to meet the changing needs of our local community. We support 5 Clinical Commissioning Groups & have a robust governance structure in place. We provide inpatient clinical services within a modern, personal & friendly 18-bedded unit, as well as Specialist Community Crisis Support Service, Hospice at Home Service & Specialist Day Therapy Service.
