Job summary

The role of the physiotherapist will be to provide high quality rehabilitation care to our residents across both sites; Lillington House & Helen Ley House. This will involve a range of neurological assessment and intervention skills, across different phases of treatment (slow stream rehabilitation to long term maintenance).You will be required to carry out individual and group therapy sessions within these phases of treatment.

You will work as part of the therapy team which consists of qualified staff and assistants in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language, Psychology and Dietetics. All work together to provide the optimal level of person centred support and therapy for adults with complex neurological conditions. Essential to the role is the ability to integrate with the nursing team, who provide 24 hour cover.

Main duties of the job

  • To prioritise, assess and manage own patient caseload demonstrating specialised skills, experience and ability to work without direct supervision;
  • To complete respiratory and tracheostomy competencies;
  • To work flexibly within the team to support and supervise less experienced staff in the day to day management of their caseload;
  • To be able to provide verbal and written reports that meet professional, legal and organisational requirements;
  • To maintain and develop level of expertise within the speciality;
  • Once service re-established, to lead hydrotherapy sessions following appropriate training.

About us

Castel Froma Neuro Care runs two care centre sites, Lillington House and Helen Ley House for those with neurological conditions and brain injury.

We provide 24 hour nursing care as well as therapies. Staff at CFNC work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) which involves bring together professionals of different backgrounds to work as a team in devising and implementing care packages to meet the individual needs and requirements of each resident.

We aim to:

  • Provide the highest standard of nursing and car for individuals with neurological conditions who have complex needs;
  • Bring together experts from every therapeutic field to help our residents live as full a life as possible;
  • Integrate family, friends and the local community into the lies of our residents and provide a supportive environment for their carers;
  • Excel in palliative and end of life care to help our residents live their last days as they would wish, free from pain and with as much dignity as possible.

  • 1. Hold a diploma/ degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent;
  • 2. Be a member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and be registered with The Health Professions Council.

Desirable

  • Driving licence and access to own transport

Experience

  • 1. At least 3 years clinical experience working as a Physiotherapist;
  • 2. Strong skill in assessment of individuals with neurological conditions.

Desirable

  • Effective knowledge and experience in physiotherapy treatment planning and execution, in neurological conditions, within a multi-disciplinary team.
