Job summary
- As a Clinical Nurse or Pharmacist specialising in ADHD, you will work, under the guidance and supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist, providing remote consultations in pre-booked review appointments as part of the ADHD clinical pathway. The post holder will provide pharmacological and non-pharmacological evidence-based interventions and provide specialist input into the ADHD Service.
- You will work both autonomously, and as part of a team, to deliver evidence-based care to this patient group and be proactive and innovative in exploring new ways of delivering care, demonstrating enhanced competence in complex decision making, assessment and management of clinical needs.
- This role will involve working in partnership with service users, carers, families, friends, and other agencies, including liaising with primary care services to ensure effectiveness of outcomes.
- Collection and collating of data / information effectively for the purpose of audit, research and service performance will also be expected.
Main duties of the job
- To use evidence-based practice to develop, deliver and maintain a high quality, clinical and cost-effective ADHD service.
- To provide a comprehensive service to the patients attending the appointment including review of observations and investigations as needed, management, and referral as appropriate within defined parameters and scope of practice, referring to senior colleagues as needed. Complex cases should be discussed with the Medical Lead, Dr S Mashru, including any titration that needs more than 3 follow-ups.
- To ensure patients have consented to, and are fully involved in the implementation of their treatment plans
