Job summary

Harrow Health NHS GP Federation seeks an experienced IT Manager to join Harrow Health Community Interest Company who are based in a modern bespoke office and diagnostic Centre in Northwood.

As an IT Manager you will be responsible for managing and implementing continuous improvements to our operating systems and IT infrastructure. You will help leverage the latest tech to drive efficiency and give our client the competitive edge over competition in both customer service and efficiency.

Working closely with our IT Consultant who has over 20 years experience working with IT in NHS settings, your role will very much be a project role getting involved in varied workload around system implementation/upgrades, cyber security and general infrastructure/network duties in an all encompassing IT role. Main duties of the job

  • Building and developing M365 corporate governance and best practice including managing user adoption and training.
  • Ensuring all users personal devices are on the latest operating systems (Windows 11) and using the latest software (M365).
  • Implementing MFA access to all systems across the business.
  • Integrating systems throughout the company.
  • Login creation and security
  • Asset Management
  • PC Imaging
  • Working with our MSP to ensure the highest level of Cyber Security including getting and maintaining Cyber Essentials Plus.
  • Running regular tests and training workshops across the business to ensure all users are Cyber Aware.
  • Scoping, reviewing, investigating and implementing HSCN connections to support a growing healthcare provider working with multiple hospital trusts, providers and ICB's
  • Developing, managing and maintaining VPN connections
  • Implementation and management of third-party EDI integrations (customer and third-party warehouse integrations).
  • Scoping, investigating and implementing a customer web portal within budget and timeframe.
  • Managing various third-party IT support partners including reviewing partners as necessary.
  • Ad hoc 1st and 2nd level IT support before escalating to IT consultant or other support partners.
  • Helping with staff IT set up such as laptops and access to servers.
  • Be responsible for the management of the website.

IT Support Manager ensures that all employees have the technology they need to get their job done, from a reliable laptop and VPN access for remote workers who can't be reached otherwise, to up-close coordination with other departments like HR or finance so data is secure.

Job Brief

We are looking for an IT Support Manager to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines. You will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our companys computing needs.

The successful candidate will have improved skills, a proven professional experience and a detailed knowledge of industrys best practice processes and will be responsible for implementing measures to counter any vulnerabilities in software programs used on a day-to-day basis, ensuring secure operation throughout every department.

Responsibilities

Manage information technology and computer systems.

Plan, organize, control, and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.

Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and

Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures.

Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems

Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.

Lead on problem management, identifying root cause, developing, and implementing remediation plans. Liaise with other ICT support teams and third-party contractors in the resolution of technical issues.

Estate management and support with Head of Corporate and Business Support Services.

Audit systems and assess their outcomes.

Preserve assets, information security and control structures.

Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness.

Maintaining a register of when maintenance completed and schedule of due dates.

Ensure upkeep of the buildings and grounds to maintain at a high standard.

Liaise with the cleaning and maintenance contractors on behalf of the organisation.

Liaise with utility companies and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and best value for money.

Ensure Health and Safety compliance across the company including PAT and Other Electrical Testing, Risk Assessments, Audits, Fire Assessments and checks with Landlord.

Asset Management including maintain the Asset Register in accordance with Head of Finance, ensure appropriate and timely maintenance of equipment's and maintain a record, responsible for Pricing and Ordering of new equipment and organising safe disposal of unwanted equipments.

Maintaining all systems on-site and remotely. They work closely with and train Systems & Database Administrators. Additional day-to-day colleagues can range from Engineers, Operators, Security Practitioners, Product Managers, and others throughout the company.

Requirements and skills

Proven working experience as an IT support technician or relevant experience.

Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems

  • Project management and monitoring actual plan against progress.

Expertise in data centre management and data governance

Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation

BS in Computer Science, MIS, or similar field.

Budget management and adherence to strict deadlines

Excellent time management and prioritisation of tasks

Strong interpersonal & technical skills.

  • IT & Communications systems, including telephone systems, telephone recording systems, photocopier, and web-based systems to ensure they are maintained and functioning optimally, and all messages are current.
  • Ensure completion of the DSP Toolkit in a timely fashion for the l. T sections.
