26.5 hours per week (Monday Friday working week)
£12.26 per hour, plus competitive benefits

About us
At the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice and community nursing services across Berkshire West, we look after people living with life-limiting conditions and offer support for families too.
Hospice care is the treatment and support we offer to people with life-limiting conditions. We combine specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms, with other emotional, practical and spiritual support.
Main duties of the job
About you
We are looking for an experienced Therapy Assistant to join the team at Sue Ryder Southeast Region. Your role will support the Therapy staff (Physiotherapist and Occupation Therapist) to provide high-quality holistic person-centred care and support to service users to reach their full potential. This role will involve travelling between our Southeast Region services. The primary base will be Berkshire West RG7 4AB, millage will be paid at 45p per mile.
Understanding of health/social care sector work
Experience of working with people in a care setting is desirable but not essential
Skilled in interacting with all types of people
Proven experience of working within a tea

Together with the multi-disciplinary team responsible to ensure optimum cognitive, social, emotional, physical and functional needs are addressed.
To support service users with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses, who have specialist palliative or neurological needs.
Responsible to ensure that the service users individual rights and choices are actively promoted and supported, and their beliefs and preferences appropriately acknowledged.
Responsible to report status and variances in treatment and condition to the appropriate Therapist at the earliest opportunity and progress treatment as advised by the Therapist.
