Volunteer Coordinator Sue Ryder South Oxfordshire Palliative Care Hub and Berkshire West to include Reading, Wokingham and Newbury. 37.5 hours per week Circa £27,668 per annum (£14.15 per hour) Interview date 13th November Be there when it matters! An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well organised person to join Sue Ryder in the role of Volunteer Coordinator covering our Palliative and End of Life facilities in South Oxfordshire and West Berkshire. Volunteers are vital to everything we do at Sue Ryder. They help keep our care centres running smoothly, raise essential money to provide more care, and offer exceptional support to clients and their families and carers.

Main duties of the job

About us: Were here for people aged 18 and over living with conditions like cancer, heart failure and lung disease. We offer a range of support, from inpatient care at the 15-bed Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading, to our community and day services bases in Berkshire West and South Oxfordshire. About the role: You will be part of the regional Volunteering Service team, working with other volunteer coordinators to develop volunteering roles and volunteer-led services to meet the needs of our patients and their families across South Oxfordshire and Berkshire West. As Volunteer Coordinator you will lead on developing and maintaining an inclusive and impactful volunteering experience. You will be passionate about the value of volunteering, with experience of delivering best practice in volunteer management including recruitment, reward and recognition, communication, and training and development. You will lead on the day-to-day administration and supervision of a team of volunteers and their activities; recognising individual strengths and effectively deploying volunteers into roles that will meet the needs of our clients. About you: We are looking for a pro-active self-starter who has good practical knowledge of working within a health and social care setting with vulnerable adults. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and have the confidence to present to an audience and facilitate meetings and workshops. You will understand safeguarding, managing risk and legislation surrounding best practice guidance relating to volunteering. This role covers our sites in Berkshire West and South Oxfordshire therefore you must be willing and able to travel.
