About us:
St Johns Hospice is in Moggerhanger, Bedfordshire and we provide expert care for life-limiting conditions in our inpatient unit and in their own homes.
Were here to help our patients and their loved ones, with everything from pain and symptom management to emotional and practical help.
Our community services include a 24-hour telephone support line, lead by a team of expert health professionals for all the palliative patients in Bedfordshire. We also have a care in the home, crisis and night service for palliative and end of life patients. Each service we pride ourselves on offering outstanding quality through every single interaction.
About the Role:
This role encompasses three key areas: Team management, quality and stakeholder support.
We are looking for an experienced practitioner who has demonstrable experience in management, quality reporting and quality improvement and working with a large number of stakeholders and service users across many areas of healthcare.
You will be supported by an Operations Manager, who supports the day to day logistics of the hub, alongside a team of healthcare professionals who manage the shift and smaller teams of staff.
Full time position, covering occasional nights and weekends.
Main duties of the job
The community services manager will have overall responsibility for the coordination of activities and meeting key performance.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Effectively manage the community services.
Collaborative across Health and Social Care boundaries within Bedfordshire, identifying opportunities and driving a culture of local integration with all key stakeholders. This could include some presentations to third parties and commissioners.
Ensure the service continues to meet the needs of the community.
Report on quality and performance metrics and ways that the service will deliver quality improvement.
About you:
We are looking for a strong leader who works with integrity and self-awareness, who can influence while communicating and delegating effectively.
You will ideally have experience in a similar role and be able to give examples of times where you have led a team to success and contributed to successful service development.
The post holder will:
Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a car, as some community visits may be required
Accept inclusion to the wider hospice on call rota
Hold UK NMC Registration/HCPC Registration
Have excellent interpersonal and team building skills
Be able to demonstrate developed communication skills for delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders both internal and external some at a very senior level.
Strong leadership experience including development planning and budget management.
