Clinical Fellow (Fixed Term Contract)

Job summary

Are you a dedicated and compassionate doctor with at least three years of post-qualification experience? Are you looking to advance your career in palliative care while working in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment? If so, St Lukes Hospice would love to hear from you!

We are seeking aClinical Fellowto work on a fixed term contract for 5 months, to provide holistic and high-quality care to patients across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. You will play a vital role in supporting patients and their families, working alongside a skilled and passionate team.

Main duties of the job

Complete initial assessments and treatment plans for inpatients

Provide daily patient reviews and symptom management

Attend multidisciplinary meetings and consultant ward rounds

Support community and outpatient care with supervision as needed

Communicate with GPs regarding patient treatment and discharge Certify deaths and liaise with the Medical Examiner or Coroner

Maintain clear, accurate documentation

Recognise personal limits and seek appropriate support

St Lukes Hospice is committed to improving the quality of life for those with advanced progressive illnesses no longer responsive to cure and either have such complex needs as to be best met by a specialist palliative care service or have an expected prognosis of less than one year. It provides support to patients, and extends support to those people important to them whilst maintaining their dignity and respect. In addition the hospice provides expertise, education and support to the professional health and social care community.
