Part Time: 3 Days Per Week / 22.2 Hours Per Week
The Herefordshire Recovery Service is an integrated drug & alcohol recovery service, which provides support to family members and carers affected by the alcohol or drug use of another. As a Family & Carers Recovery Worker within this service, youll make a real difference to the lives of individuals as you develop the personal, flexible, and recovery-focused support plans they need to help turn things around. Passionate about people, youll provide access to assessment, key working, structured group programmes and general advice to support people struggling with the alcohol or drug use of a loved one. The service provides a support programme to family and carers based on the 5-step approach, offering guidance and advice to explore ways of coping, enhance local support networks and support family and carers in their own right.
We provide a personalised, responsive, flexible, and professional service that enables family and carers to access the support they need within their local community.
As a Family & Carers Recovery Worker we offer a starting salary of £23,000rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £27,000per year (Pro-Rata).(Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary).
Main duties of the job
As a Family & Carers Recovery Worker you will be an integral part of the team, taking a specific focus on meeting the needs of people (over 18) affected by the alcohol or drug use of another. As part of the role, you will:
- Provide family and carers with a regular support programme to build their understanding of the tools and support available.
- Offer personalised assessment and care planning to ensure family and carers receive the highest standards of support.
- Provide family and carers with timely, creative, and flexible support to meet their identified needs.
- Provide family and carers with information and advice about other support services to resolve a wide range of real-life problems, such as housing, finance and debt issues, access to other services, maintaining positive boundaries, and understanding addiction and substance use services.
- Provide informal family support via key working and recovery check-ups.
- Liaise with partner agencies to support safeguarding and risk management.
