Based within the Burnley East PCN this new role is an exciting opportunity to learn and grow.
The purpose of the role is to provide cover all the different administration duties within the team the main part of the role will be sorting and dealing with Prescriptions and you will also be required to provide cover for holiday and sickness to other members of the Admin team.
Full Training will be provided with a dedicated mentor. However you must have an understanding of PCNs and what we are aiming to achieve.
As this is an ARRS role, the Salary banding is currently based on the 2023/2024 Scale. This is currently being reviewed and should be moved in line with the NHS Agenda for Change current banding.
The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 2pm-6pm
Main duties of the job
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Practice Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels and needs of the service:
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
- Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
- Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Taking messages and passing on information, Filing and retrieving paperwork
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
- Maintaining practice premises security in accordance with practice protocols
