Job summary

Here is an exciting opportunity for someone already working in the social care industry to learn new skills, or for someone new to social care to start a new career supporting individuals with their rehabilitation following a brain injury.

You’ll be on hand to encourage and guide individuals, helping them gain the skills and confidence to live independently.

You will share the journey with these inspiring people as they overcome hurdles, achieve milestones, and reach the goals they’ve set following their life changing injury. Many of the people we support are here for around 12 weeks before being able to live more independently or return home. We have full and part-time roles on offer.

Main duties of the job

The Role

This opportunity is based in Fen House, Ely which provides rehabilitation to up to 25 individuals with an acquired brain injury. It is a unique community where the people we support can address their cognitive, behavioural, physical, and emotional difficulties. You will work alongside occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and speech and language therapists who work collaboratively with support workers to enable individuals to achieve their goals, such as regaining the ability to walk, talk or re-learn daily skills.

We will train you to provide personalised support and you will follow individual support plans to meet the needs and aspirations of each person. The focus is developing independent living skills: personal hygiene, meal preparation, exercise, leisure activities, socialising, accessing the local community – the daily routine of regular life. You’ll get huge job satisfaction from seeing the people you are supporting do more for themselves and live the life they want to live. If you’re interested in building a career, we’re here to support you all the way on your own journey.
