Job summary

The Emotional Health Service (EHS) is a dynamic and progressive Tier 2 CAMH team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Systemic Psychotherapists and Art Psychotherapists. We have teams at Richmond (Twickenham base), and Kingston (Chessington base) and work closely with our colleagues in Early Help and Social Care. As a CAMH service we have a strong sense of team and work together to support children and young peoples emotional wellbeing.

Main duties of the job

This is a permanent role based in the Richmond EHS Cluster team but working across Kingston and Richmond schools with Specialist Resource Provisions for Children with Social Emotional & Mental Health concerns. The successful candidate will be:

  • Passionate about improving the mental health of children and young people and put them at the centre of all they do
  • Provide high quality clinical work and liaison with school partners.
  • Focus on delivering weekly art therapy groups in the school provisions.
  • Be involved in the development of this role.
  • Will receive clinical supervision and line management within the service alongside CPD opportunities.
  • Will be part of a large network of 10 Art Psychotherapists in the EHS.

Qualifications

  • Educated to a degree level with a relevant professional qualification in social work.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field i.e. social work, leadership and management.
  • Active HCPC registration and proven evidence of continuing professional development.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in leading a team, undertaking line management, performance management and change management.
  • Knowledge of relevant theory that informs practice delivery.
  • Experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships and co-producing solutions to challenges across a diverse set of stakeholders, including children, young people and their families. Advocating the voices of those we are working with.
  • Proven ability to effectively use data, intelligence and evidence to create meaningful insight and to inform own decision making.
  • Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy) and producing accurate reports, presentations, and written updates to a range of stakeholders (which may include families, children or young people
  • Knowledge of statutory legislation (for example Childrens Act) and national policy drivers that will affect childrens services and your role (in this role it will include knowledge of and understanding of the KS2 and KS3 national curriculum).
  • A proven track record as a successful strategic leader within the public sector, with direct experience of leading the commissioning of services for children and families.
  • Experience of addressing specific equality or diversity issues within your practice with colleagues/service users and taking action to solve them.
