Job summary

The Emotional Health Service (EHS) is a dynamic team of Clinical andCounselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Systemic Psychotherapists andCreative Therapists. We have cluster teams at Richmond (base Twickenham) and Kingston (base Chessington) and work closely with our colleagues in Early Help and Social Care. We have staff working in specialist posts in Safeguarding, Looked After Children and deliver a local Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service. We have a strong sense of team and work together to support children and young peoples emotional wellbeing.

This is a part-time role and the salary will be pro-rata.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Specialist/Art Psychotherapist in the EHS Richmond Cluster you will be passionate about improving the mental health of children and young people and putting them at the centre of all you do. You will be part of an established team and be afforded many different opportunities to use your skills, including providing professional consultations, assessments, individual and group art therapy, supervision and line management. We welcome creative and innovative ways to deliver services. In addition to individual supervision and line management, you will have access to many exciting development opportunities. You will also be part of a Team of 6 Art Psychotherapists in EHS providing access to peer supervision and support. This post is permanent and for 3 or 4 days a week and will be based in Twickenham where there is a dedicated art therapy room. This role has an additional market supplement of £5436 per annum pro rata.

Essential

  • Postgraduate qualification (MA) in Art Psychotherapy
  • Active HCPC / AFT registration and proven evidence of continuing professional development

  • Supervisors qualification (desirable)

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within CAMHS and schools and working with a range of mental health difficulties.
  • Knowledge of delivering evidenced-based assessment and treatment for a range of mental health difficulties and NICE Guidelines.
  • Able to work with children, young people and their families with suspected or diagnosed Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or ADHD.
  • Experience of providing consultation and training to a wide range of professionals.
  • Experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships and co-producing solutions to challenges across a diverse set of stakeholders, including children, young people and their families. Advocating the voices of those we are working with.
  • Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy) and producing accurate reports, presentations, written updates to a range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge, and experience of, using safeguarding procedures and statutory legislation and national policy drivers that will affect childrens services and your role.
  • Ability to provide high quality supervision and line management.
