Job summary

Changing Futures is a resource for Bristol. Our aim is to create sustainable change at individual, service & system levels and influence government policy & local commissioning. In line with Bristols Multiple Disadvantage Strategy, this role will be integral to embedding My Team Around Me across Bristol as the way of supporting those most in need of coordinated multi-agency support.

Main duties of the job

Through positioning in multi-agency case discussion points the post holder will support with the process of identifying the people who could most benefit from the My Team Around Me approach. They will support practitioners working with that person to build a My Team Around Me community of support which will address their needs as a whole person using a shared safety plan. They will ensure members of those teams can access additional resource through our wider team, such as My Team Around Me training, multi-agency reflective practice, and formulation. They will support these My Teams to collaboratively create bespoke solutions, challenge systemic barriers and using their collective expertise to develop solutions in real time for those they are supporting. The teams will have access to tailored recovery focused options for the individuals theyre supporting.

About us

Second Step Second Step is the lead agency, in a partnership of organisations, chosen by Bristol City Council, to deliver the MHCLG Changing Futures programme in Bristol to support people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including discrimination, homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health issues, drug and alcohol issues, and contact with the criminal justice system.

  • Proven experience of building relationships and working
  • effectively in multi-agency settings
  • Demonstrable experience and interest in working with people with
  • histories of trauma and complex needs e.g. personality disorder
  • traits/presentations, multiple and severe disadvantage including a
  • range of adult mental health problems and/or substance misuse,
  • forensic histories and homelessness.
  • Ability to formulate (make sense of) different ways of adapting and
  • surviving using trauma informed and attachment frameworks.
  • Experience of influencing staff within organisations fostering
  • system change
  • Experience of working autonomously across services or teams
  • Experience of evaluation and audit
  • work with these to facilitate engagement with staff.
  • An understanding of the experience and needs of staff working with
  • people who present with complex needs theories of vicarious
  • trauma etc.
  • An understanding of diversity in learning needs and thoughtfulness
  • in how to promote inclusion.

Desirable
