Job summary

Open Mental Health is a Somerset alliance of local voluntary organisations and the NHS. We are working in partnership to ensure that residents of Somerset get the support they need, when they need it. Our shared ambition is to ensure that people living with mental health problems get the right support at the right time. Working together, we support people to live a full life, by enabling access to specialist mental health services, housing support, debt and employment advice, volunteering opportunities, community activities and physical exercise, to help support and improve their wellbeing and quality of life.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team delivering specialist interventions, ensuring that services are tailored to individuals cultural and social needs. This role oversees our Recovery and Wellbeing Workers alongside acting as a conduit between the Open Mental Health partners and the local community.

Carry out the role adhering to Second Steps policies, procedures, values, code of conduct and current legislation using a Recovery orientated, psychologically informed, equalities-based approach. Manage the referrals inbox ensuring new referrals are triaged with in the best practise time frame. Experience

Essential

  • Experience of supervising staff, students or volunteers.
  • Two years significant experience of working with people with mental health needs including needs assessments and the support planning process.
  • Experience of working with people with multiple needs i.e. mental health, homelessness, alcohol/drug dependency.
  • Experience of providing practical and emotional support to enable the client to take up the responsibilities of their own tenancy and settle and reintegrate into the community.

Desirable

  • Proven experience of working within a housing and support agency
  • Proven experience of mental health issues and/or services, either as a user, carer or supporter.
