Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Recovery Navigator/Peer Recovery Navigator in our new area of work.
This new post is initially funded through the Community Mental Health Framework until the end of March 2026 with the possibility of a further extension beyond that date subject to future funding being agreed.
The Community Rehabilitation Team includes a wide range of skilled and highly motivated staff including Peer Workers, Recovery Navigators, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, a Social Worker, a Consultant Psychiatrist, and Clinical Psychologists.
The Community Rehabilitating Service is an award-winning partnership service led by mental health charity Second Step, together with womens organisation Missing Link and Avon and Wiltshire NHS.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a wider rehabilitation multi-disciplinary/ multi-agency team delivering a range of interventions, ensuring that services are tailored to individuals cultural and social needs.
The post is part of the Bristol Community Rehabilitation Service and this role will be focussed on working with people from across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire who are currently admitted to Out of Area (OAP) rehabilitation placements and returning to their home localities from these placements.

- Two years significant experience of working with people with complex mental health needs including needs assessments and the support planning process.
- Experience of working with people with multiple needs i.e. mental health, homelessness, alcohol/drug dependency.
- Experience of providing practical and emotional support to enable the client to take up the responsibilities of their own tenancy and settle and reintegrate into the community.
- Experience of working with individuals during an admission to a mental health hospital
Desirable
- Proven experience of working within a housing and support agency
- Proven experience of mental health issues and/or services, either as a user, carer or supporter.
