Job summary

Second Step provides a variety of accommodation-based services as part of the Bristol City Council commissioned Pathways, as well as multiple other housing related services. Currently accommodation-based services are located in Bristol, however, Second Step has services throughout the South West. We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is eager to enable clients with complex needs to move towards recovery. As a Support Worker in our High Support Accommodation Service, you will work in a psychologically and trauma informed way, be values led and looking to grow both personally and professionally.

Main duties of the job

The aim of a Support Worker is to deliver person-centred support to clients who are on a journey to recovery and who live in our High Support Accommodation. Working in a psychologically, adversity and trauma informed way.

Experience

Essential

  • A minimum of one years experience of working with people with mental health needs
  • Experience of supporting people with multiple needs (e.g. mental health, homelessness, alcohol/drug dependency, rough sleeping)
  • Experience of assessing/managing risk and/or support planning

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a housing and support agency
  • Experience of mental health issues and/or services, either as a user, carer or supporter.
