Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Psychotherapist

The closing date is 13 July 2025

Job summary

The postholder will be a member of the Early Intervention multi-disciplinary team, working with 14-65 year olds and/or their families/social networks who are regarded as meeting criteria for a first episode of psychosis or an At-Risk Mental State. This may involve working with individuals and/or families/social networks who present with a range of difficulties, including voices, visions and extreme suspiciousness. Proactively engaging communities to facilitate intervention at the earliest stage to prevent an escalation of difficulties and more aversive and coercive interventions may also be part of this role.

The postholder will work alongside and support the multidisciplinary team to implement trauma- and recovery-orientated care. This may include consulting or supervising around appropriate psychologically-informed interventions.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapist with a strong desire to work with people who express unshared and apparently unusual distressing experiences (the psychosis field). Applicants would integrate with the whole service and work with individuals, families/social networks and potentially communities. The role will involve supervision, consultation and training to the team, in addition to contributions to service development.

About us

Always strive to provide excellent service by following best practices and staying true to our values. Along with your main duties, look for ways to improve how we work, bring new ideas and help our organisation grow. See feedback as a chance to learn, grow and get even better.

Equality and diversity are everyone's responsibility and as a proudly anti-racist organisation, you have a key role in helping drive this important work forward.

And, as you would expect, being part of our team means taking care of your own health and safety, as well as your colleagues', following our policies and procedures, taking responsibility and completing any necessary training to grow in your role.
