Job summary
Aspire are in search of recovery focused, passionate, and
caring people to join the very friendly team as Early Intervention in Psychosis
Practitioners.
As a care coordinator within the team, you should be dedicated
to delivering a range of bio-psychosocial and trauma informed care. You will
hold a of caseload of clients with psychosis and you will provide individualised
care to help them move forward with their goals and recovery.
You should have some experience of mental health services;
this can be as a qualified Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or
Social Worker. We are keen to consider equitable experience in relevant but
different fields such as teaching, probation, policing, and youth work.

Unfortunately, this
role is not appropriate for newly qualified psychology graduates who do not
hold substantial levels of previous vocational experience in mental health or equitable
services.
You must have access
to the use of a car for work for this post.
Whilst most
of this role in within the usual working hours, there may be times some work is
undertaken evenings and weekends.
Main duties of the job
- To be the responsible care co-ordinator for a caseload of individuals with first
episode psychosis and their families, in accordance with the Care Programme
Approved June 2021
Approach Policy and aspire case management procedures.
- To work assertively and in partnership with members of the multi-disciplinary
team.
- To ensure effective communication within a Team Approach model to support
effective planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
- To have a working knowledge of current principles, evidence-based practice
and service provision within Early Interventions in Psychosis
- To undertake initial assessments with young people to identify first episode
psychosis.
- To assess levels of clinical risk, initiate and review risk management plans
- To work within the requirements of the Mental Health Act for service users
where this is applicable.
- To provide practical support and help to service users and carers in
developing meaningful social support networks
- To work alongside families/carers in providing information and supporting
them emotionally and practically.
- Work to promote community awareness of psychosis and reduce stigma within
a range of arenas.
- Promote service user and carer involvement in all aspects of the service.
- To ensure that client records and other information systems are completed
accurately and within agreed timescales.
