Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for accurately summarising and coding relevant clinical information into patients electronic healthcare records using SystmOne, in accordance with organisational protocols and clinical coding standards. They will also manage the entire patient registration pathwayfrom initial registration through to processing deductionsensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to procedures.
Additionally, the role includes providing administrative support to the wider multidisciplinary team and supporting data quality, information governance, and clinical governance standards.
Main duties of the job
Primary Responsibilities
- Summarising incoming medical records and accurately entering patients medical histories onto SystmOne.
- Applying accurate clinical coding in line with NHS and practice protocols.
- Managing patient registrations, deductions, and data updates in SystmOne, ensuring accuracy and compliance with practice procedures.
- Reviewing all clinical correspondence (e.g., letters, hospital summaries) and processing them in accordance with existing practice protocols.
- Inputting data from GP2GP transfers and supporting Registration Links processes.
- Scanning, attaching, and storing patient documentation correctly within electronic patient records.
- Conducting data entry tasks and ensuring that patient records are accurate and complete.
- Answering and directing incoming telephone calls, handling queries professionally.
- Supporting clinical and administrative staff with general administrative duties, including photocopying, system searches, filing, and booking appointments as required.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
- Monitoring progress against summarising targets and contributing to performance audits as needed.
