Job summary

The post holder will be an experienced health care worker who can provide effective and timely audits to serve the needs of the organisation and ensure patient safety is of paramount importance

This is a hybrid role some of which will be completed remotely. This role is 30 hours per week. LCW has various sites across North & West London where you can work from whilst working clinically.

Unsociable hours enhancements apply only on extra clinical sessions that are undertaken in unsociable hours.

Main duties of the job

A meticulous and detail-oriented Auditor to ensure compliance and quality assurance within our Integrated Urgent Care and Urgent Treatment Centre services. The auditor will primarily focus on evaluating the performance and adherence to protocols of General Practitioners (GPs) and Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs- including nurses, paramedics and pharmacists) and Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs) working within our services.

Job description

Job responsibilities

1. Conduct regular audits as per the organisational and contractual schedules to assess clinical documentation, treatment protocols, and patient care practices using accredited audit tools such as the RCGP audit tool, NMCAT, NOAT.

2. Evaluate the compliance of clinicians with established clinical guidelines, protocols, and regulatory standards.

3. Identify areas for improvement in clinical practices, documentation, and adherence to policies and procedures.

4. Collaborate with the clinical management team to develop action plans for addressing identified deficiencies and implementing best practices.

5. Provide feedback and guidance to the Audit and Performance Leads and other senior clinical team members where needed based on audit findings to promote continuous improvement and ensure high-quality patient care.

6. Maintain accurate records of audit findings, action plans, and follow-up activities. Furthermore to be able to identify and monitor themes and trends that can be presented for internal and external reports.

7. Stay current with relevant regulations, guidelines, and best practices in urgent and emergency care.

8. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance auditing skills and knowledge of clinical standards.

9. Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, administrators, and other stakeholders to promote understanding and cooperation in achieving audit objectives.

10. Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information related to audit findings and performance evaluations.

11. Engage with training and benchmarking exercises to ensure standard of auditing is current and reflective.

12. To provide audits outside of regular schedule to assist with the management of incidents, complaints and performance.

The successful candidate will need to work closely with both the clinical and service management and administration teams in their service area and within the clinical staff and governance team members, Audit and Performance Lead, Deputy Medical Director, Director of Clinical Services, and other management team members if needed.
