Job Objective:

111 Health Advisors are mediators, influencers, pacifiers and life savers no two calls are the same.

As a 111 Health Advisor, you will take a variety of incoming calls from patients, providing them with an appropriate response to urgent healthcare needs within a timeframe. This could range from booking a GP appointment, advising them to attend an out of hours service or even dispatching an ambulance.

You need to be a good communicator with an excellent telephone manner. It is essential that you are computer-literate and keen to learn new skills. You must be passionate about high quality patient care and be caring and able to remain calm under pressure.

Job Objective: Working as an integral part of the Integrated Urgent Care service (formerly 111 and OOH) as an IUC Health Advisor, you will be instrumental in delivering a model of urgent care that streamlines and improves outcomes for the patient. The success of this integrated model is reliant on a range of factors, including the workforce – both the clinical and non-clinical staff – working together with a focus on providing excellent patient care.

Working in LCW UCC’s Integrated Urgent Care Service will put you on a career pathway that will see you progressing through the ranks should you wish from levels 2 to 6 - supported by a robust training and development plan.

The Integrated Urgent Care service operates 24 hours, 7 days’ a week, 52 weeks a year. As such, the successful applicant will be required to work on a rotational pattern over 4 week period – including day, evenings, nights, weekends. Candidates will also need to work at least a minimum of 5 bank holidays per year. In recognition of this ask, you will receive an enhancement to your basic pay of 15% for night time working and for Saturday working, 30% for Sunday and 50% for Bank Holiday working.

Role Summary: The post holder will be responsible for the prioritization of presenting clinical symptoms, supported by decision support software throughout a 24-hour period. This will include the transfer of patient calls to the appropriate endpoint and the giving of appropriate advice.
