Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Moving Forward team, located across South Tyneside.
You will be required to use your skills and knowledge to actively listen with empathy, care and concern, to people who have identified as having mental health needs to help them express their needs, develop goals and solutions. You will work closely to support individuals gain the skills and confidence to attend activities that will have a positive impact on their mental health and wellbeing and build resilience for future challenges.
Working to ensure that service users maintain good mental health, gets support appropriate to their current needs and are supported with achieving their longer-term aspirations.
You will also ensure that services are provided in a way that is consistent with our values, supporting and promoting an organisational culture that values accountability, respect, excellence, innovation and compassion.
Main duties of the job
About you
- Significant experience of working 1:1 with service users and/or people with complex needs.
- Significant experience of working within health, social care, or VCSE systems.
- Awareness of mental health issues & users needs
- Worked with people who have enduring & complex mental health issues in a community-based setting..
- Willing to develop knowledge/skills. Able to identify personal strengths and recognise opportunities for personal development.
- Demonstrates the ability to proactively explore new ways of working that will improve overall performance and service delivery.
- Very good oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop good working relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
- Ability to promote teamwork, establish and maintain effective working relationships. Able to express views, positively and constructively.
- Willing to work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of the sector (mental health / 3rd). Knowledge of the effects of stigma and discrimination. Knowledge of recovery in the context of mental health.
