Main duties of the job

What you'll be doing

As a Lead Pharmacist within Delphi’s Head Office team, you will work closely with clients and staff offering support. Your role will involve prescribing across a number of Delphi services in accordance with service level agreements. This is a really exciting and rewarding role where you’ll be able to positively impact people’s future, improving their prospects and their quality of life.

As a Lead Pharmacist you will need to be able to work across a number of Delphi sites with differing client bases, delivering the best possible outcomes for those in your care.

You will be based at Head Office in Blackpool but will be able to work from all Delphi sites as needed.

Your hours of work would be 37.5 hours per week

Why this role exists

The Lead Pharmacist works closely with Delphi’s Head of Medicines Management to provide expert advice and support on all aspects of medicines and pharmaceutical services. The role provides prescribing provision across the breadth of Delphi Medical’s North-West services, including HMP settings, community services, and in-patient settings.

Activities you will carry out within this role.

· Support the Head of Medicines Management, deputising where appropriate.

· Form part of Delphi’s prescriber Rota covering services across the North West.

· Provide and cover clinical sessions as required, in line with Delphi policy.

· Accept professional and clinical accountability for prescribing practice, working at all times within registered prescribing rights, clinical competence and with reference to their regulatory bodies professional standards.

· Client interaction- in all our services meeting clients to assess need and agreeing their personalised clinical care.

· Multi-disciplinary meetings- When reviewing clients clinical needs a multi-disciplinary approach will support clients to agree person centered care plans.

· Support dispensing of controlled and non-controlled drugs to meet the clients physical support needs.

· Completion of Clinical and Psychosocial assessments to help create a person-centered integrated care plan.

· Provide expert clinical advice to support Delphi to lead the way.

· Review clinical records supporting the audit cycles.

· Support and oversee trainees and students.

· Engage with Delphi prescribers through regular and effective peer supervision.

· Prepare and be present for CQC inspections.

· Always maintain high quality records and documentation associated with client care.

· Highlight and create opportunities to improve patient care and work with colleagues to move improvements forward.

· Promote and develop the reputation of Delphi and the Calico Group through the development of external relationships through attendance at key events.

· Promote integration within the Group at all levels, representing Delphi at meetings and events.

· Contribute to good working relationships and effective joint working with commissioners, stakeholders and partners

· Investigate and contribute to the incident and SUI processes.
