Job summary

The post holder will be a senior professional registered nurse who will lead the quality team to ensure excellence in governance, quality and patient safety across the organisation. The postholder will lead and co-ordinate organisational wide activities and work streams associated with quality and safety improvements in both clinical and non-clinical areas. The post holder will be required to define, scope, plan, and have oversight of the activities of quality improvements with clear project management structures and outcome measures. This will include ensuring that systems and processes are in place to provide assurance that high quality care is delivered in all settings is consistently.

As a senior nurse within the organisation the postholder will also be responsible for oversight and scrutiny of the processes and systems for the management of professional issues related to nursing or other registered allied health care professionals across Havens Hospices.

Main duties of the job

The oversight of Quality and Professional standards across Havens Hospices including:o Ensuring governance structures are robust and provide ward to board assuranceThe development of a culture that holds patient safety and positive experience at the centre of care deliveryo Implementation of effective systems and processes for the investigation of incidents, complaints and patient feedback including shared learningo Strategic implementation of quality improvement work and projectso Implementation of and compliance with a robust audit framework that provides assurance of safe and effective care.o Oversight of an effective system to manage the development of, and compliance with, policies and procedureso Strategic implementation of frameworks to ensure oversight of professional issues related to registered nurses and allied healthcare professionals
