We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic 'Receptionist' to join our friendly team.
Please note: You will be required to work across our 3 sites, which include Martello Health Centre, Church Lane Surgery and Orchard House Surgery.
Do you have previous reception experience within a GP surgery and are familiar with working in a very busy and demanding environment?
Would you like to gain valuable Customer Service experience and work within a rewarding setting where you can provide the best quality service to our patients?

Main duties of the job
As part of your role, you will be required to:
Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
Provide general and administrative assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person, via email, or via telephone.
To support with back-office administration duties during quite times within the practice.

To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
To work in accordance with written protocols.
Filing post in medical records.
Faxing and photocopying as requested.
Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
Computer data entry/allocation and collation; process and record information in accordance with practice procedures.
Any other administrative duties such as scanning, and ordering supplies as needed.
Reception
Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice.
Answering the telephone in a timely & professional manner
Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
Booking appointments appropriately and monitoring the practice appointments system.
Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional, to include message taking.
Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
Keeping the reception area, noticeboards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter.
Opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols.
