An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy Team as a permanent staff member. This role provides the opportunity to work autonomously as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team and be part of a National Occupational Therapy service. We provide a comprehensive Induction, Individual and Peer supervision, protected CPD time and Reflective Practice. About Us: Combat Stress is the UK's leading mental health charity for veterans. For over a century we've been helping former servicemen and women deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today we provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, focusing on those with complex mental health issues related to their military service. We provide a range of community, outpatient and residential mental health services to veterans with complex mental health problems. We provide services in-person, and via phone and online. About the role: This role provides the opportunity to deliver occupational therapy in its truest form utilising unique occupational therapy interventions focused on rebuilding veterans' lives. As an Occupational Therapist in the team you will be responsible for empowering veterans to engage fully in meaningful occupations that matters to them and support their participation in life situations. Interventions will be based on enabling them to make choices, building resilience and include the use of coping strategies based on sensory interventions. This will be done through assessment and completion of occupational case formulation to guide treatment and delivered through individual and groupwork interventions. Qualifications

Essential

• * BSc (hons) or equivalent Occupational Therapy qualification
• * Current HCPC registration
• * Evidence of personal and professional development since Registration
• * Evidence of participation in clinical governance

Desirable

• * Post-registration qualification appropriate to speciality
• * Experience in treatment of veterans' mental health
• * Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists

Experience

Essential

• * Minimum of 2 years post registration experience as an Occupational Therapist including a minimum of 12 months in mental health
• * Application of standardised assessments and outcome measures
• * Working in a recovery focused environment
• * Risk assessment and management
• * Planning, implementing and evaluating Occupational Therapy interventions
• * Proven experience of providing high quality care and exceeding expectations.
• * Working with a range of challenging behaviours
• * Developing and facilitating groups to meet the varied needs of service users
• * Working in an environment that promotes service user involvement
• * Good understanding of clinical governance
• * Experience of the development and implementation of treatment plans and evaluation of care
• * Experience of participation in discharge planning
• * Experienced in data protection and the ability to uphold confidentiality
• * Experience in the maintenance of electronic records within legislative and Organisational frameworks
• * Experience of working effectively within a interdisciplinary team

Desirable

• * Experience of managing and supervising students and staff.
• * Experience of programme development
• * Experience and understanding in relation to meeting RQIA standards
• * Knowledge/Experience in Sensory Informed approaches
• * Knowledge/experience of resilience
