Job summary

Trainer Can you speak either Arabic, Kurdish Sorani or Farsi? We are looking for a lead trainer who will deliver Mind Spring sessions. You will have experience as a refugee, asylum seeker or migrant and will create a safe, respectful and inclusive environments to facilitate group discussions and activities that promote mental wellbeing, resilience and integration. Salary: £12.60 per hour Location: PC24 Asylum Assessment Service Contract: 6-month fixed term contract Shifts: 2 hours per week What will you be doing Deliver Mind-Spring sessions in participants native language following the programme structure and guidelines. Share relevant personal experiences in a thoughtful and appropriate way to inspire and support participants. Collaborate closely with the co-trainer (mental health professional) to plan and deliver sessions effectively. Identify and respond appropriately to participants emotional needs during sessions. Maintain professional boundaries and manage group dynamics, including disruptive behaviour. Offer encouragement and motivate participants to engage and participate fully. Maintain confidentiality and uphold Oasis safeguarding and data protection policies. Attend team meetings, supervision sessions, and debriefings as required. Participate in ongoing training and development activities. Provide feedback or reports when needed. Represent the Mind-Spring programme and Oasis in a professional and positive manner.

Main duties of the job

What do I need Lived experience as a refugee, asylum seeker, or migrant. Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in one of the specified languages (Arabic, Kurdish Sorani or Farsi) High level of English fluency, since the training is conducted in English. Experience facilitating or leading group discussions. (In the UK or abroad) Comfortable sharing relevant personal insights and experiences to inspire and guide participants. Skilled in giving and receiving constructive feedback. Good knowledge of UK services such as education, health, housing, welfare benefits, and community support. Calm under pressure and capable of handling challenging situations. Excellent communicator with strong listening and interpersonal skills. Able to set boundaries and manage disruptive behaviour constructively. Willing to work in challenging environments; including some evenings, weekends, and travel within the UK. Committed to maintaining confidentiality and adherence to Oasis policies. Able to work freelance as a Mind-Spring trainer with Oasis for a minimum of two years. Background in mental health or social work is desirable.
