Circa £55,000-£60,000 per annum pro rata, dependent on experience

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse witha wealth of leadership and management experience to lead our nursing teams for a fixed term period of 18 months.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assurance against service delivery, including performance management, governance, budget management, professional leadership and business planningusing a range of skills. Partnership working and the ability to work at pace is key.

Your leadership will be central to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and providing motivational guidance to our clinical teams, creating an organisational environment where every individual can contribute to their fullest potential.

Working in collaboration with the Matron, Associate Director of Quality & Governance, and the Palliative Care Consultant, you will manage a complex workload to deliver on key objectives, ensuring that key quality standards and compliance targets are met.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to strong organisational skills, are required to ensure services are delivered safely, to the highest quality and in compliance with national standards.

Set in the tranquil grounds of Willen Lake, Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the Milton Keynes area. We offer 24 hour / seven days a week palliative care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. Our person-centred care is delivered with compassion and respect for peoples wishes.We have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy.

  3. Create a culture of continuous improvement in service delivery and patient outcomes, leading service development and transformation initiatives; advocating for service re-design to enhance service user experience; championing innovation and best practices and driving the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
  4. Efficient management of resources, including people and financial. This will include overseeing the efficient operational delivery of hospice services, budgeting, expenditure controls and nursing workforce development.
  5. Ensure patient experience is of the highest quality, including through the delivery of personalised patient care to the highest levels of safety and quality, meeting and striving to exceed national and local performance criteria and placing value on the diversity of the local community.

  7. Develop strategic relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders to ensure collaborative working that leads to improved patient outcomes.
