Main duties of the job

You can expect to join a supportive team and will have the opportunity to develop your skills, working closely with our Business Intelligence & Data Manager and Associate Director for Quality as the Hospice invests in data intelligence for the future.

Following initial induction, this role has a hybrid location (a minimum of 50% of the hours to be spent at our Willen Lake location).

With good communication skills, you will work across departments and will have two years previous experience as a data analyst demonstrating cStrong computer literacy including packages/languages such as SQL, SAS, PowerBI, Powershell, Python and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The integrity and analysis of our data is essential to inform our decision making, maximise income generation and ensure our patients receive the best care possible. You will play a pivotal role in making this happen, supporting the Data & Quality teams on the clinical and business development sides of our organisation. We are seeking a motivated data driven analyst who gets satisfaction from collating, reporting and presenting key messages and performance information to others. You will help to improve business intelligence services and act as a superuser for several systems in this newly designed and varied role.

We offer 24 hour / seven days a week palliative care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. Key Accountabilities:

Key points that you will use to measure a persons success in this role:

1. Work with the BI & Data Manager, AD of Quality, Governance & Performance and other key staff to support and deliver data innovation and improvement across the organisation.

2. Collaborate with internal teams to identify data needs, collect relevant data, and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

3. Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations related to patient and supporter outcomes, resource utilization, and overall hospice services.

4. Support the development and maintenance of data dashboards and reports to visualize information, statistical data and key performance indicators (KPIs).

5. Conduct statistical analysis and create models to forecast patient and supporter needs, resource requirements, and program outcomes.

6. Segment and profile supporter data in appropriate ways to inform targeted and personalized interactions, efficient resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.

7. Provide a prompt response to high priority ad-hoc requests for complex information and reporting.

8. Assist in designing data collection tools, forms and surveys to gather relevant and appropriate information from patients, families, supporters, volunteers and staff to inform program improvements and aid in process automation.

9. Act as a superuser for key systems including SystmOne and Access Charity CRM in order to better collect and process data, adhering to the principles and practice of good information governance.

10. Work closely with internal departments and IT support to ensure the compliant, secure and efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of data.

11. Keep abreast of changes in the NHS, Social Care, fundraising and income generation industries, as well as best practices, appropriate technologies and data analysis techniques to support continued improvement of data-related processes and methodologies.
